PANELS      PanelAttach1.jpg (113226 bytes)

All PEAK standard portable sheep yard panels are 3.3 metres long and feature 6 rail configuration with a loop return on each end for ground contact. The bottom rail is well clear of the ground.   Material used is all galvanized 25mm x 25mm RHS with fixed hooks and slides one end and extended oval connections at the other.  The attachments are designed not to lock up when hinged, create enough flexibility for uneven ground and for for forming "L" and "T" joints with other panels.  Filled panels are 2.4 metres long.

20 PANEL UNIT

DRAFTING RACE

The drafting race has a full length pressed rib floor, "V" shaped at the base. Overall length in transport configuration is approx. 4 metres.  Drafting gates are RHS horizontal rails and pipe verticals with protective handles, locking indents are provided so gates can be fixed in the parallel position. A removable end block gate is provided.

TRANSPORT

For transport the 18 standard panels and 2 filled panels are stood each side of the drafting race which transforms to a trailer in the raised position.  A removable support beam is clipped across the draft gate area to support the front end of the panels, the axle beam supports the rear end of the panels. Long pins through the loops on the panels keep them located and a load binder strap is provided to secure the panels tightly in place.

SET UP

This standard unit will hold about 600 sheep and if set up in a suitable location near a permanent fence or corner of a paddock it can work about 450 sheep.  A high-lift jack is provided to raise and lower the unit.  When the weight is taken off the wheels pins are removed to allow the axle to hinge.  When lowered the drafting race is flat on the ground.  The drafting race has telescopic legs at the outlet end which can be pinned to create a loading ramp.

50 PANEL UNIT

TRANSPORT

All the panels are clamped vertically, with a unique system, to and carried on a 2 tonne bogie skeleton trailer.  Over ride brakes, clearance and tail lights and VIN plate for registration are provided.  This unit is  suitable for long distance transport over any type of road conditions.

DRAFTING RACE

The drafting gates are part of a free standing frame to which the sides of the drafting race and clipped.  Two filled panels and a 2 metre gate in frame form the forcing  pen leading into the draft.

SET UP

These yards can be set up in any location.  If used in conjunction with existing fences up 750 to 1,200 sheep can be worked.  The trailer can be used to unload and load the panels "on the go" so a minimum carrying of panel is achieved.
