SINGLE AUGER DISCHARGE CONSTRUCTION The bin is constructed on a heavy RHS chassis with "A" frame drawbar. The strength of the bin is obtained through a sturdy RHS framework. Inside the bin is heavily braced. A heavy duty adjustable tongue connects to the tractor drawbar. The axle consists of semi-trailer stub axles with 10 stud European pattern hubs and heavy rims fitted with new tyres. Top of the bin slopes one way and has a roll tarp as a cover.
FEATURES These bins have two compartments and use one 12" diameter auger to unload the contents of the bin. The bin is shaped at the top so that the auger can fold forward along the top edge. An external ladder is provided as well as internal access rungs and handles in each compartment. A heavy duty implement jack supports the bin when unhitched.
DRIVE SYSTEM The PTO drive is fully shielded and drives directly to a gearbox to which the auger is also directly coupled. A slip clutch is also included for overload protection.
DISCHARGE SYSTEM The single 12" (305 mm) auger hinges forward controlled by a 36" stroke hydraulic cylinder. At the outlet point of each hopper a slide is powered by a hydraulic cylinder which controls the flow from each hopper. A flexible and telescopic tube system connects to the top of the auger to direct the flow into the seeder, this is interchangeable with a spout for harvest use.
OPERATION- SEEDER FILLING The auger is extended by activating the tractor hydraulics, the drive to the top section of the auger automatically couples. The bin is positioned close to the seeder so the spout with reach to both hoppers. With the PTO engaged the auger is running empty. The operator places the telescopic tube in the seeder hopper. The open button for the front bin on the electric pendant control, which is attached to the end of the auger, is depressed this opens the slide for the fertilizer to enter the auger and the flow is directed into the seeder hopper. When almost full the closed button is depressed and the auger is allowed to clean out for 10-20 seconds. The process is repeated with the button to open the rear discharge depressed allowing the flow of seed to the seeder hopper. Using the seed discharge first the next time minimizes the risk of mixing a small amount of seed and fertilizer. A flag connected to each shutoff slide indicates the opening.
OPERATION- CHASER BIN For chaser bin operation the flexible spout is removed and replaced by the shorter spout. The electric pendant is carried in the tractor cab so if required the flow can be closed off to the auger. Normally the slides would be left open and the flow controlled by simply engaging the PTO. The auger is folded out for discharge and retracted to travel.
